Mac OS X Tiger - Sneak Preview
The next version of Mac OS X 10.4 "Tiger" was previewed at the WWDC.
Several stand out new features that ship with the new OS are:
- Spotlight - a powerful search application
- iChat AV - with 3 way video chat and 12 way audio chat
- Safari - with RSS feed reader
- Dashboard - if you've seen Konfabulator, you've seen this one already.
- Automator
- Voice Over
- .Mac Sync
- Xcode Tools 2.0
- Core Image - Ultra high performance
Mac OS X 10.4 "Tiger" will be available in the first half of 2005.

Tiger seems to pack a punch, and i'd really like to give it a test run when it comes out. First impressions seem to point to it being a very graphic intense OS - so consider upgrading your video card if you intend to upgrade to the new OS.
Dashboard looks a lot like Konfabulator.
Konfabulator's front page features a headline: "Cupertino, start your photocopiers." It would seem that Apple have borrowed quite a bit from Konfabulator, and it should be a lesson to all software developers to patent your ideas - before larger companies do.
