1.83 GHz 17-inch iMac for education

iMacApple announced the availability of a 17-inch iMac for the educational market.

The new iMac, which replaces the eMac, includes a 1.83 GHz Intel Core Duo processor, built-in iSight camera, 512MB RAM, a Combo drive, 80GB Serial ATA hard drive, Intel GMA 950 graphics with 64MB of shared memory, Gigabit Ethernet, built-in Airport Extreme and Bluetooth, five USB 2.0 ports, two FireWire 400 ports, and iLife '06.

This educational iMac is available only through Apple education channels for
US$899. The regular 1.83GHz 17-inch model (MA199LL) for general public that comes with 8x Superdrive, double the hard drive and X1600 graphics is priced at US$1299.
