Flip4Mac and Popwire now under the same roof

News from MacWorld. The maker of Flip4Mac, Telestream, announced the acquistion of Popwire from Teleca.
Flip4Mac's WMV Component allows Mac users to watch Windows Media content using QuickTime; Popwire makes media encoding software for Macs including Compression Master, Compression Engine and WMV-9 Component.

Telestream's News Release News Release mentioned:

“Telestream is an excellent fit for both Popwire employees and our products,” said Oskar Boding, Business Unit Manager of Popwire (now Telestream AB). Telestream’s experience in broadcast and successful global commercialization will provide tremendous leverage for our product offerings. This also broadens availability of our products for workgroup and enterprise customers as well as for the increasing number of Mac OS X professionals around the world.”

MacWorld points out that “if there is overlap” between Flip4Mac and WMV-9 Component, they’ll “implement the best of both.”
