Google Desktop for Mac available (Beta)

Google Desktop for MacGoogle officially unveiled a Mac version of Google Desktop. Google Desktop is a desktop search application that gives you easy access to information on your Mac and from the web. Google Desktop enables users to search their own email, files, music, photos, and more as easy as searching the web with Google.

UniversalGoogle Desktop for Mac is Universal Binary, allowing it to run natively on PowerPC and Intel-based Macs, searches file contents and metadata, recognizes Spotlight plug-ins so it can search for the same information that Tiger's built-in search feature does, maintains a searchable Web history, and takes snapshots of text documents so they can be recovered if accidentally deleted.

Google Desktop for Mac current in public beta and is free. Google Desktop for Mac requires Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) or later. It can be downloaded at the Google Desktop web site. We recommend users carefully read the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy before installing.
