Apple drops prices of Cinema Displays again

Besides releasing new eight-core Mac Pro, Apple today also dropped the prices of its LCD monitors, taking the 20-, 23-, and 30-inch models to US$599, $899, and $1,799.

The 20-inch Cinema Display was originally priced at US$ 699, it's now US$ 599, a $100 price cut. The 23-inch Cinema HD Display dropped from US$ 999, it's now US$ 899, a $300 price cut. The 30-inch Cinema HD Display dropped US$ 200 from US$ 1999 to US$ 1799.


Apple first released 30" Cinema HD Display on 30 June 2004 at a price tag of US$ 3299. The price was dropped to US$ 2999 on 5 January 2005. When Apple dropped the price of 20-inch and 23-inch Cinema Display, the price of 30-inch Cinema HD Display remanded the same and later dropped to US$2499. On 29th March 2006, 30-inch display's brightness, which was increased from 270 cd/m2 to 400 cd/m2, and contrast ratio also bumped from 400:1 to 700:1. Apple cuts the price of Cinema Displays on 8th August 2006.
