future Creative Suite will no longer support PowerPC platfrom
In June this year, Apple announced the upcoming Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard upgrade will not running on PowerPC based Mac computers. Adobe has also announced that all future versions of Create Suite products will run on Intel based Macs with no support for PowerPC installations, and for current Creative Suite, there will be no support for PowerPC based systems except for critical issues that may arise.
Adobe offered following reason:
Creative Suite customers benefit from working on the latest hardware and operating systems. The majority of PowerPC platform users have transitioned to more current configurations, prompting Adobe to suspend support for the PowerPC platform.

Apple announced the transition plan on shifting from PowerPC-based Mac to Intel-based Mac during 2005's WWDC (June 2009). The transition plan completed in July 2006 with all Mac computers (laptop, desktop and server) successfully using Intel's Core, Core Duo, or Xeon chips. Later that year, Adobe started to release popular Adobe Reader and its flagship Photoshop products in Universal Binary which runs natively on both PowerPC- and Intel-based Macs.
Current Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard runs natively on both PowerPC- and Intel-based Mac systems. Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard, scheduled to be available in September for only US$29 (for 10.5 users) will only run on Intel-based Mac systems.
