Yojimbo 3.0 is out, also Yojimbo app for iPad

Yojimbo 2.0

We have been covering Yojimbo news since the very first version in early 2006. Yojimbo has been a great tool for keeping all sorts of passwords, notes etc, syncing between Macs, and the encryption feature of course.

We have a great news to report today. BareBones has released Yojimbo 3.0, a new major version with support for syncing to Yojimbo for iPad 1.0 (sold separately).

Another new feature is the scanner image input support. If your Mac has a TWAIN compatible scanner connected, you can scan images into Yojimbo directly.

Yojimbo appYojimbo for iPad 1.0 allows users to take all of user's Yojimbo data anywhere with them. Got some important notes or passwords recorded on Yojimbo on your Mac? You will love Yojimbo for iPad.

As we can see, Yojimbo for iPad is still in its early stage, it syncs Yojimbo (Mac) by using WiFi (rather than Push or Syncing via MobileMe), and you can only read (not write) the data at this stage. Beautiful iPad-style search? Of course. Although the feature seems a bit limited, it is still a promising first step for the Yojimbo app.

Yojimbo app

Yojimbo 3.0 is free for Yojimbo 2.0 users, or US$39 for individual license. Yojimbo 3.0 requires Mac OS X 10.5.7 or later, and fully compatible with Mac OS X 10.6. Yojimbo 3.0 is a Universal application, runs on both Intel and PowerPC based Macs.
